Packaging
I’ve never really had any problems with Parachute Advansed’s packaging before. They’re packaging is always informative, with clearly mentioned product claim, description, and ingredients. (I really value this information in any product because it helps me decide if I want to invest in the particular product or not.)
I have to say, I grew up seeing Parachute’s coconut oil around the house, my mother loved it, she put it on my hair, body etc. etc.
The packaging is standard to Parachute, everyone recognizes their logo, the extra orange and blue design feels really nice to the eyes as well.
The same information has been given on the bottle as well. It’s a plastic bottle and the quantity is 95ml.
This bottle comes packed in a card-board-ish box and has a leaflet inside with more information about the product.

Cons
- Has a strong smell which not everyone can tolerate. (Personally, I love the smell of herbs!)
- Coconut oil has been used as a base, which is a cool oil and may make your scalp cold in winters. (I know some people are not affected by this particular thing)
- It’s not easily available in the market, I haven’t been able to find it in many physical outlets. So I usually just order it online from Amazon (People living in US can get it from Amazon US)
- It’s a sticky oil so you can’t put it on and not wash it out if you want to go out somewhere. (Then again, I don’t recommend going anywhere when you’ve oiled your hair)
My Experience
With the trust the brand has earned over the years, I really love their oils. Recently, Parachute has started experimenting with the oil it launches in market, and since they’ve never disappointed me before, I decided to try it out.
I really had a good experience using the Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil, I think it definitely helps in growing out the hair and is great value for money. I’m currently using it’s third bottle. And so far the results have been amazing. Just like shampoos and conditioners, I like to switch between my other hair care products every once in a while so that they keep performing as well on my hair.
Yes, it’s true that you will notice reduction in hair fall, and yes you’ll see your hair grow faster, but there’s also one more thing that it does, and does not claim to do. Which is also something I love it even more for. It’ll help you get rid of dandruff.
I found the Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil to be on par with the KAMA AYURVEDA Bringadi Intensive Hair Treatment when it came to combating dandruff.

How I used the Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil to cure dandruff
Whenever I decide to try a new product, at first I make sure to use it regularly and then slowly use it less. So I used it everyday for 10 days and I was oiling my hair overnight. This helped my hair a lot, I actually noticed less hair fall but it was not that noticeable (I counted how much hair I lost) but what it did achieve in 10 days was that my hair felt lively, they were really really soft, manageable and it seemed to have cured my dandruff (I usually get it in winters).
How the Parachute Advansed Ayurvedic Hair Oil helped me?
- Lesser hair fall
- Definitely helped grow my hair out
- Cures dandruff for me every time
Fortunately I don’t have a pre-mature hair graying problem, but, I’m pretty sure it prevents that too because of the ingredients it has.
What is Tail Pak Vidhi?
If you hadn’t noticed, the label reads that this is a Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine and has been processed through Tail Pak Vidhi. Tail Pak Vidhi is the Ayurvedic way of making or cooking oils.
Will I buy it again?
Definitely yes, I really liked it, it’s affordable and great value for money. Plus oiling hair is very essential and every one should do it.
Where do I buy it from?
Like I said, I wasn’t able to find it in a lot of markets out there. And I’ve become such a online shopping junkie. It’s also because I’ve found some many good products on sale or usually on less price that I love online shopping so much.
I usually buy mine either from Amazon or Flipkart (People from the US can buy it here)

Great review π surprised as it is not available at local stores
With Parachute people, I’ve noticed a trend, between their Deep Conditioning Hot Oil and Ayurvedic Hair Oil at a given time, only one is available at any given time in the local stores near me.
I don’t know why but, it is like that.
Thanks a lot for the feedback, we really appreciate it!
i am thnkng 2 buy it but wanted 2 get review.. as i hav much hairfal n dandruf.. do u thnk taking this oil wil help me out..??
Hey Saranya,
Regular oiling helps your hair, it strengthens the constitution of your hair.
And makes them strong, thus preventing hair fall.
It will help you out. π it has helped me! π
But your results may vary depending on how regularly you use it!
Nice blog and its true that the Parachute oil product has all information on their packaging, so customers can easily find all details about that product. I am also using this Parachute oil and its great.
I’m glad you like it as well, and I lovely when products have all information written in a readable way! It makes you trust them more and that’s what businesses should strive for!
Hi,
I always find a white powder when i scratch my scalp. I think its not dandruff. May be sebum as i read in net. Can this oil reduce sebum too? If not let me know if any thing work to reduce sebum plzzzz..
Hey Divya,
Sorry, it took me some time to reply! You’re right; it’s not dandruff. It is sebum. Oils don’t reduce sebum, the only way you can reduce sebum build-up is by washing your hair frequently, if you only wash it say, once a week. And by correcting what you’re eating. I would suggest eating less oily and spicy foods. And make sure you keep your scalp clean. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just send me an e-mail or get in touch through twitter or any of our social handles, we’ll be happy to help!
Hi jane, thank u so much for replying all… i have done thyroid test nd its fine.. when i go to dermatologist they are not testing anything. He just gave me iron supplement nd told to eat healthy.. but my problem is aggreating nd want to discuss more with u.. can u give me any of ur social media id to contact u? Plzzzz
Hey Divya! I’d love to discuss it out with you π you can find me on @JaneAndSamara on Twitter and I’ll be happy to chat with you about it! π
Hi,
I really loved this detailed review. And thanks a lot for that. But can you help me find out the difference between sebum and dandruff because something white is coming from my scalp also and I am not so sure what it is. Also please tell me how to prevent it. I am also having severe hair loss.
Hey Pooja! First of all I’d like for you to not panic, and take no STRESS at all. Taking stress only aggravates your situation. Sebum is the Oil that our heads naturally produce to nourish our hair. You can think of it as a natural hair conditioner. Whereas dandruff is that flaky white particles that you see on your hair. A lot of the times hair loss can be suffered due to bad eating habits, lack of proper nutrition, and washing hair with bad (hard) water. But hairloss can be a result of some medical condition as well. I’d say go see your doctor just to make sure that you don’t have a disease like thyroid etc. Or hormonal imbalances that are making you loose hair. If the doctor says you’re all healthy – as in your hair loss is not because of a medical condition, then you’ll have to improve your lifestyle. I can tell you more but would need way more details. Also, don’t forget to visit your doctor, and no taking stress, okay?
Dear Jane,
Thankyou for your concern and advice. And I am sorry that I couldn’t thank you a little earlier. And that’s because my exams are starting by this 29th and I got a bit busy with that.Anyway I will be following your advice as soon as my exams are over. Thanking you once again.
Yours Lovingly
Pooja Sam
Pooja, if you keep me updated in your journey I’ll try my best to help you, I too suffered from similar conditions so I’d love to help you out.
I’ll be answering your question in our monthly magazine as well, if you like you can subscribe to it π
Best of luck for your exams and I’ll try my best, do share what the doctor says!
I am experiencing more hair fall after using this product than before what should I do…continue with this may help me or shall I stop using..
Hi Sowjanya,
The most common mistake we make is that we think a particular ‘thing’ has led to hair fall. First, I’d like to ask you, whether you have any health conditions like high BP (blood pressure), thyroid, etc. Since conditions like these usually result in hair fall that is more than normal. If you don’t know about it, then please consult with your family doctor and take his advice. Now, as for this product causing more hair fall in your case, are you absolutely sure it’s the product? It’s true than not all Ayurvedic preparations suit all people, but they generally never have side effects. However, if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in this oil, you might feel itchy on your scalp after use.
There are people that tend to shed more hair day after they have oiled their hair (I’m one of those!). If you think it’s the product then stop using it and observe your hair and you’ll be able to tell if it was the product or not.
I suggest you use Kesh King and see if this one helps you. Getting to know the root cause of your hair fall is so important, because that’s the only way you can give yourself proper treatment. Stay calm, see your doctor, and keep me updated!
i have severe hairfall problem.wat hairoil can i use
Hi Charu,
The kind of oil you should use would depend on the root cause of your hair fall, you must first determine that in order to truly treat your problem. I can offer you personalised advice just email me at [email protected]
I love the parachute oil, however the scent made me so ill and nauseous everytime I used it I had to stop. Has anyone else had this experience?.Love and Peace Barb W
Yes, sometimes ayurvedic products have that effect on people. I’d suggest using plain unscented coconut oil. Hope it helps.
Hi,i have a serious hairfall problm and since am in gulf th water here is too bad.will this oil help me?i have purchased it frm here
Hi Sreeja,
Thanks for getting in touch. This hair oil definitely helps reduce hair fall by strengthening your hair. However, it is not a remedy. For treating your hair fall I recommend that you visit a doctor and find out the root cause of your hair fall. If it is due to some chronic conditions such as hormonal imbalance, thyroid, etc. Get your treatment and that should solve your hair fall problem.
However, if you do not have any conditions like the ones I mentioned above, the root cause of your hair fall could be harsh water, poor digestion, dehydration, unhealthy lifestyle and inadequate nutrition. You will have to work on all these things to completely treat your problem.
The hair oil will simply help you in strengthening your hair, please do not think that it will show results in 2 days. You must use it regularly for 3 months at least, combined with a healthy lifestyle, and in your case, since the water is too harsh where you live, I recommend you wash your hair with drinking water. You will see a difference!
Continue with this, let me know if you see some improvement! π
Don’t panic and be calm, stress makes you loose hair as well.
Hi Jane, I have heard good review about sesa hair oil too. Did you get a chance to check that oil?
Hi, Divya!
Thanks for the suggestion! I have used the Sesa hair oil and have loved it. But it doesn’t suit me in winters since the base is coconut oil, which makes me feel cold during winters. But yes, I have used it and I do like it. I also noticed I haven’t reviewed it, so thanks for letting me know. I will review it soon! π
