Thoughts on Packaging, Labeling And Appearance Of The InnisFree Green Tea Fresh Cream:

The first thing I would like to talk about when reviewing innisfree’s green tea fresh cream is that this is my first product I have ever tried from this particular brand. In fact I had never even heard of it before (at the time of purchase of this product).

I think I really liked the packaging, as you can see from the photos, it comes packed in a box made out of paper, the carry bag they give is also made out of paper. So I really liked that, because it just felt so eco-friendly and even if it’s not that eco-friendly because you would say that the container is made out of plastic… well they take all empty containers back! Boom! And it’s such a great thing…and they recycle it.

         

 

 

Now, the packaging, I really liked the colors on this as greens are my favorites, and I sort of liked it. But what I didn’t like is that a lot of things are written in Korean. I get it, you’re a Korean brand, but it’s just nice that if you’re selling outside of your home country, try to break the ice and write things on your bottles and packaging boxes in, well, english. So that most people can read it.

But in a nutshell, I liked how it looked, first visual impressions were good, I would have said great if only most of the things written weren’t in Korean.

As for the appearance and the texture of the innisfree green tea fresh cream, it has no color and looks almost like aloe vera gel, and it’s texture is also like that of a gel.

So What Made This? (Ingredients)

A total of 22 ingredients were needed in I don’t know what quantities to make the innisfree green tea fresh cream, and I have to say I liked most of them. (I say most because, some of them, I think really had no business going into this cream but you’ll find out more about that by reading below.)

1. Camellia Sinesis Leaf Extract (Green Tea Extract)
2. Propenediol (A type of Glycol, Glycol is another term for Diol which is an alcohol containing two hydroxyl groups in its molecules, its function is to help ingredients penetrate into the skin)
3. Glycerin
4. Citrus Unshiu Peel Extract (Citrus Unshiu also known as Satsuma Mandarins is a fruit. It is seedless and is of the citrus family)
5. Opuntia Coccinellifera Fruit Extract (Fruit Extract Of the Fruit Of Barberry Fig)
6. Orchid Extract
7. Camellia Japonica Leaf Extract (Japanese Camellia/Rose Of Winter Leaf Extract)
8. Eugenia Caryophyllus Flower Extract (Clove Flower Extract)
9. Citrus Aurantium Dulcis Fruit Extract (Orange Fruit Extract)
10. Citrus Paradisi Fruit Extract (Grapefruit Fruit Extract)
11. Citrus Aurantium Bergamia Fruit Extract (Bergamot Fruit Extract)

Quick Ingredient Check: 

• Green Tea Extract: It is a very effective skin conditioning agent, full of antioxidants and anti-microbial.
• Satsuma Mandarins offer a variety of skin care benefits, such as, rejuvenation of skin and making it feel refreshed. Other than that, it is also rich in beta-carotene.
• Barberry Fig Fruit Extract: (This plant is a cactus) it is rich in antioxidants. Has plenty of Vitamin C and has skin-conditioning effects.
• Orchids boost the skin’s immunity and helps the skin retain moisture.
• Japanese Camellia Leaf Extract: Makes skin soft and supple.
• Clove Flower Extract: Antiseptic qualities.
• Orange Fruit Extract: Is a really good moisturizer for skin and has acne and pimple fighting properties.
• Grapefruit Fruit Extract: Anti-Aging properties, rich in anti-oxidants. Good for skin.
• Bergamot Fruit Extract: It is anti-fungal in nature and helps revitalize skin, the only bad thing is that it increases sensitivity towards sun light.
• Tangerine Extract: Has great skin toning effects.
• PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil: I don’t really know why a cream would need a cleansing agent or a surfactant in it… it’s more common in face washes and stuff, but why in this cream?

Pros:

1. It is ideal for oily/combination skin.
2. It will not make your face feel sticky or oily and still moisturize it properly.
3. Easily absorbs into your skin without much effort.
4. I was impressed with most of the skin conditioning ingredients, there are literally so many ingredients that are really beneficial to your skin and you will feel the difference since day one. Example: just read the the ingredient check above.
5. It is an extremely light-weight gel type formula, excellent for oily/combination skin.
6. It will not make your skin feel oily.

 

Cons:

1. It’s really really expensive.
2. Some ingredients made me raise my brow… like I mentioned earlier, why do we need a cleansing agent in a moisturizing cream?
3. I would say it is much more apt for night time use, bergamot fruit extract makes skin sensitive to light.
4. It may not suit you if your skin is very easily irritated, the amount of citrus-y ingredients make this cream a little harsh to people with really sensitive skins. So be sure to make sure it doesn’t irritate your skin.

 

Overall Experience

It took me a week to be absolutely smitten by this cream. I have to say I love it! I still use it and I don’t think I will stop. Simply because it helped with my acne problem, it took care of my skin without making it oily, which most creams fail to do even if they say so. It definitely burned a whole in my wallet for its price but I have to say the money was worth it. You don’t have to apply a lot of it and that is what makes it last so long, I’m almost about to finish my first tub and it is now in its 4th month. I will keep going back for more because I absolutely loved it.

The innisfree green tea fresh cream is a part of my night time skin care routine, and I have personally loved it’s results as it’s made my skin so much better. I would recommend it to anyone as long as they don’t have dry or really sensitive skin.

I was so impressed with this cream that I even tried to use it as a post facial wax cream, that didn’t help though as my skin gets really sensitive after waxing and it was inflamed all day long. For post wax I still use Lacto Calamine as it is the best thing that works post facial wax for me.
