There are various Home Remedies For Curing Dandruff out there, some work and some don’t. I am not going to provide you with a compilation of all those Natural Remedies and Home Remedies that may or may not work. I am going to provide you with Home Remedies for getting rid of Dandruff that I have tried and can say from experience that they work. I have to warn you though, you will have to put in a daily effort to see results until you notice a big visible change. I will start by listing the most obvious,
- Keep the tools you use for your hair clean. It is a good Idea to disinfect your combs, hair brushes, hair clips, hair ties, etc. with an anti-bacterial wipe or wash them with antibacterial soap. Make sure you do not share to avoid cross-infecting each other.
- Use an Anti- Dandruff Shampoo to wash your hair followed by any conditioner for your choice. It is not essential to use an Anti-Dandruff conditioner since you do not apply conditioner to your scalp.
- Hot oil treatments stimulate the scalp and increase the blood circulation in your scalp. Use Coconut Oil for Oily Scalp and A mix of Castor Oil and Olive Oil in the ratio of 1:1 for Dry Scalp, 2-3 times a week.
- Use a Hair Tonic made especially for Dandruff. If you cannot find such a tonic in the market, Make your Own Hair Tonic using the recipe given below:
Mix 2 Tablespoon of natural vinegar (Apple cider Vinegar) and 6 Tablespoons of hot water, dab with cotton into scalp parting hair with the use of a pin-tail comb, covering the whole of your scalp. Preferably at bed time, Remember to wash off next morning. Again 2-3 times a week. You may alternate the days for Hot Oil Treatments and Hair Tonic Treatments.
However, I also want to share with you another Recipe for a Tonic that can be used every day and does not require you to wash it off next morning, Not unless you want to.
You need Lemon essential oil and Neem Oil or Tea Tree Oil, any one of Neem or Tea-Tree oil would work. Take 5 drops or Lemon and 5 drops of Neem Oil or Tea Tree Oil and Mix it in 250mL of distilled water, The kind you use for drinking. Mix it thoroughly. You may also add 2-3 drops of any fragrant oil of your choice like Lavender, Rose, Sandalwood, etc.
This Hair Tonic is great for keeping dandruff at bay and a great way to Cure Dandruff. You can use the same method for applying it as mentioned in the other hair tonic or you can store this mixture in a spray bottle and spray it at the roots of your hair and scalp. If you live in extreme hot conditions, refrigerating the Hair Tonic is a good Idea, Do not store the Tonic for more than 1 month, drain whatever id left at the end of the month and make anew if more is required.
