Buying sunglasses can be a challenging task. It is really important that you select an apt style or shape of sunglasses which can enhance the beauty of your lovely face. The wrong shape or size can make your face look smaller, disproportionate or direct focus to the problem areas.
How To choose the right sunglasses for you face
In order to select a sunglass, identifying your face shape comes in handy
- Take a lip liner or erasable pen and outline your face by looking in the mirror. Don’t worry if you cannot do this.
- Just divide your face in your imagination into 3 horizontal segments.
- The first segment has your forehead and eyes. The second segment has your nose and cheekbone.
- The last segment has your lips and chin.
Now check the following details to determine your face shape:
An oval face
- This face has a wide forehead and prominent cheekbones.
- The face is gradually tapered towards the chin.
- You will be able to trace an egg shape around your face.
A round face
- When no part of the face is specifically wide, then you have a round face.
- The length and width of the face are the almost same.
- The cheeks are the fullest part of the face.
A diamond face
- In this case, the middle portion of the face is wider
- The jawline and forehead are narrow.
A square face
- The forehead, cheekbone, jawline have almost the same width.
- Square and bony jawline is a prominent feature.
- The length and width of the face are the almost same.
A heart face
- Face strongly tapers towards the chin.
- Forehead may seem to be a prominent feature while the chin tends to be pointy.
Selecting your sunglasses
Oval face
Ahh the easiest one! The main aim of wearing sunglasses is to get the standard oval face look. Lucky you! You already have one. Almost any shape of frame suits you, from aviators, geometric to square or rectangular. Avoid round, oval or oversized frames.
Round face
Your motto should be to tone the roundness of your cheeks. This can be done by wearing wider frames that extend beyond your cheekbones and balance your cheeks. Angular frames should be chosen, like aviator, wrap, rectangular or square. Avoid round frames.
A diamond face
You must ensure that your frames always end before your cheek bones. This way you can make your face look narrow. Some good options for you can be- small, oval frames, Aviator, round, wrap. Avoid oversized frames.
Square face
Your face needs to balance the contours. For that, round and oversized frames are advisable. Pick frames that have soft round edges. Examples: Aviator, Browline, Round, Oval, Wrap. Do not, in any case, pick a square or rectangular frame.
Heart face
You should look for bottom-heavy frames. Any frame which lies parallel and extends past the width of your jawline tends to complement it. Use aviators, rectangular or wrap frames.
See, it is so simple yet tricky. Sunglasses can easily glam up any dress and protect your face from the scorching heat. So, know yourself, and look your best!
