One fine day the stars aligned with the blessings of the gods and everything bright, midst checking our email we found an email informing us of the IndiBlogger meet in Delhi. Obviously, we were very excited, after all, this would be out first blogger’s meet ever. We quickly registered ourselves crossed our fingers and patiently waited for the meet. Each passing day brought with it more excitement, overwhelming joy, and nervousness.
Just the night before the Indiblogger Delhi Meet, we could not take it anymore, this was something we just HAD to do, we HAD to Instagram about the meet and Thank Indiblogger for organising this meet. Were we embarrassed to be #soimpatient to #catchupongrowth ? Heck No!
Experiencing the Indiblogger Horlicks Delhi Meet

We reached the venue, Indiblogger’s crew members greeted us and politely asked for our pass and the technology wave of our century hit me when they scanned my QR code pass and effortlessly registered us, no hassle. We were impressed cause in our mind “Registration” meant waiting in lines with pen, paper and Id’s and stuff like that….you now, old school? but it wasn’t so.
We walked in to be met with the aroma of delicious food, there were tables and fellow bloggers were eating and we quickly joined the club. As soon as we began eating we proud that our senses had not failed us, the food was just as delicious as appetizing it’s aroma was and soon enough we took our seats in the meeting hall where the meet was about to start.
There were two fellow bloggers at our table who were also first-time attendees and we quickly made new friends. The meet started with our host Mr. Anoop introducing himself and inquiring about how many of us were first-time attendees of the Indiblogger meets. Of course, we and some more bloggers raised their hands to let him know. He started the meet with a little Ice breaking game that he called ” 30 seconds of fame ” and while some regular attendees already knew about the game or host was kind enough to explain about it for the benefit of the first time attendees.
In this game Mr. Anoop randomly picked people from the crowd that had raised their hands, these people introduced themselves and their blogs and then they picked a number from 1 to 10 and they won whatever that number corresponded to in Mr. Anoop’s list. People won goodies, roses and gift vouchers worth Rs 500 and Rs. 1000.
All in all, it was a very fun game and everyone really enjoyed it, I know I did.

After the fun game, the we commenced with an interactive discussion about the Importance Of Right Growth with the expert panel. Attendee bloggers were full of questions and our expert panel did a great job feeding our curious minds. Dr. Rajiv Chhabra , the HOD of Paediatrics at Artemis Hospital, Gurgaon told us about how over-consumption of milk, which is supposed as the “Complete Food” for growing children is not a healthy practice and how too much of calcium absorption can lead to Iron deficiency in kids which in turn may lead to anaemia and decreasing in the child’s will to eat and ultimately- Irritability in the child. Further stating that Iron deficiency also means a decrease in IQ in kids.
” Everything boils down to diet, overreliance on just milk is not good.” – Dr. Rajiv Chhabra.
Dr. Chhabra also informed us about the importance of vitamin D, He laid emphasis on being in the sunlight for 40 minutes a day and 5 days a week while also warning to avoid 11 am – 4 pm for sunbathing as at that time the UV rays are damaging to the skin and very harsh.
Ms. Satinder Kaur Walia, Psychologist and panel expert put emphasis on “Instinct Parenting” for children. She opinionated the need to rely on instinct when it comes to feeding children. She said in order to avoid over- feeding and force- feeding the child a parent must rely on the child based parenting, asking parents to feed the child only when the child is hungry. She further emphasized that just because the parent likes a particular dish does not mean the child does too and that is okay, we must not try to force-feed.
Dr .Jyoti Batra, The Head Dietician at Batra Hospital conveyed the important of teaching your kids healthy eating habits by setting an example to the masses. She emphasized oh how parents should avoiding banning their children from eating junk food as that may lead to children wanting to have more of it, instead she suggested that parents monitor the child’s diet and try to bargain with their kids who love junk food. She further explained that parents can sometimes make bargains with their kids saying ” If you eat your boil veggies for lunch, you can then have dessert too” and try to teach kids the importance of choosing and heating healthy.
She also conveyed that in cases when preparing something healthy at home is not possible, parents must not encourage children to curb hunger with junk food, however she also advised against being too strict and said that it is okay to have one pizza say once in 15 days.
