Garnier Fructis came out with their new Oil Replacement Cream some time ago, I tried it and here’s what I have to say, “If someone told me that I had to pick just one product apart from my Shampoo and Conditioner for all my hair needs I would pick the Garnier Fructis Oil-In-Cream. - Niacinamide – Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, Paula’s Choice Rating, “BEST”.
- Sugar Cane Extract
- Coconut oil

- Olive Fruit Oil
- PEG-45M – It is an emulsifier and it increases the viscosity and also serves as a binder in the product. It is approved by the FDA and considered safe for use.
- Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate – Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate is a clear liquid that is insoluble in water. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate is utilized in the formulation of a wide variety of product types including sunscreens and makeup products that contain ingredients to protect the skin from the sun. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted an OTC drug review of Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (also called Octyl Methoxycinnamate) and approved the use of this ingredient as an active ingredient in sunscreen products up to a concentration of 7.5%.
- Behentrimonium Chloride – A cleaning/conditioning agent made from colza oil obtained from (oilseed turnip). Conditions, detangles, fight static, softens, restores, and rebuilds damaged hair. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) has concluded that it’s safe for use in cosmetic products, at concentrations of up to 5 percent, and up to 10 percent in hair dyes. The CIR didn’t take into consideration, however, the duration of use or the frequency of use when concluding that these levels were safe. This ingredient is better if derived from natural sources.
- Benzyl Cinnamate – Benzyl Cinnamate is used to impart an odor to cosmetics and personal care products. The European Cosmetics Directive requires manufacturers of cosmetics and personal care products to indicate the presence of certain “allergenic” substances in the list of ingredients if they are present above certain levels in the product (see Annex III). Review
Pros
- It does what it claims, all of it!
- It doesn’t cause build up unless you use too much in one go and then do not shampoo for more than 3 days
- It has Organic extracts
- It softens hair really well
- It’s Price
Cons:
- It also has chemicals so it is not an organic or natural product for those of you that want only natural or herbal products.
- The percentage of the ingredient that is used in the formula is not mentioned on the packaging, which would have been helpful to know that all preservatives used are within limits of safety.
My Personal Viewpoint:
I liked the product a lot for the results is gives. I did not like a few ingredients they used as I do try to be holistic whenever I can, so I make it a point that I do not put on my scalp anything which I feel is not totally organic and if I can avoid it. I did put the Garnier Fructis Oil-In-Cream on my scalp to test it though. I already have an oily scalp so I did get a bit of greasiness on my scalp with its use but I think that my scalp gets oily anyway so it wasn’t the fault of the product. Personally, I still only apply Coconut Oil on my scalp for that deep nourishment. But for everything else the Garnier Fructis Oil-In-Cream is what I find myself using… As s leave-in conditioner, As an Overnight Hair Softener, As a Hair Refresher, As a Frizz eliminator, you name it.
Will I buy It Again?
Yes, Oh yes! I already bought another tube.

Love,

I tried Garnier Fructis and I liked it. I like most Garnier products so I might be a little biased 🙂
Hey Brenda,
Yeah, I fell in love with this product as well…It is multi-purpose fr me and the results are awesome! Garnier is a great brand I agree.
I have used this product and I too have frizzy dry hair. On my second tube but it’s causing hairfall due to excess use..
Hmm hair fall? How so?
A product that’s only for use for mid-length to ends of hair should not cause hair fall…
Used back to back so maybe, but oiling is better I guess..
Maybe… But I’ve been using it too with no side effects. Also, I don’t use it very often. I definitely love oiling my hair.
Hi Sonali! Garnier Fructis Oil-In-Cream is a great product, still I do not use t on my scalp, just on the lengths. Maybe that helps the hair loss? keep us updated 🙂
Yep sure 🙂
