Some Information and Overview
- My test with this product had good results. This product was effective and worth my money. It did exactly what it said it would. It removed impurities from my skin, and did not let any imperfections get in my way.
- I have a combination skin, with all the oiliness concentrated on my T-Zone.
- My Skin is sensitive.
- I don’t usually have acne or break-outs, only occasionally so.
- The main reason I brought this product was to ensure long hours of oil-free yet moisturised skin.
Winters: Having a combination skin with oiliness around my T-Zone I did not expect this product to give me a feeling of dryness on my skin. Maybe the reason for that could be the cold weather, but, still using this product made my skin feel a bit dry for the first thirty minutes of towel drying my face. After that, my face wasn’t oily and the feeling of dryness didn’t remain.
What I was most impressed about was that after using this face wash, and without applying anything else on my face, I was oil-free for five long hours. Keeping in mind that I did not exercise and was at home the whole day for measuring the time it took for my skin to become oily again.
The Salicylic Acid did a great job and till the time I was using this face wash I never had any occasional break-outs either (since my skin is not acne-prone).
Depending on the severity of your acne-problem, this product may take a little more time to make your skin clearer and acne-free. It’s also true that this product truly is anti-marks provided the fact that you don’t scratch or interfere with the existing pimples/acne on your skin. Just let this product treat you. It does work
For better results you should use it twice daily, like I did.
Summers: Since summers, here in India, Delhi so to speak are around 40-48℃ it’s quite hot! This product truly amazed me when, in summers it was able to keep the oil off of my face for two long hours when I did absolutely nothing (No exercise, staying home and not putting on any make-up).
But, when I did work-out, that time span was reduced to a 45 minutes for the oil to re-surface on my skin. Then again, this product is not made for being an oil-clearing face wash. Of course, all face washes are supposed to take off the oil from your skin, but this one claims more on deeply purifying and unclogging the pores and preventing acne.
Preventing acne, it did, anti-marks, it is, but, pore unclogging – that was a disappointment, at least for me. It did not help in that category. It may for you though, as the results always vary from person to person.
My Verdict
Pros:
- It is quite an effective product.
- It is affordable
- If this is your first time buying this product, I recommend using a 50g or just a smaller tube.
- The Minty feeling it gives in summers is really great and it keeps you feeling fresh.
- It is Anti-Marks (If you let it work and don’t poke or scratch your pimples/acne.)
- Has Salicylic Acid which is good for fighting skin troubles like acne.
- Vaccinium Myrtillus Extract is also good for the skin. It is basically Bilberry extract which is good and a conditioning agent for the skin. It is also anti-inflammatory which is also good.
- Zinc has skin purifying qualities.
Cons:
- The minty feeling in winters is not quite a good thing to feel when you’re trying to feel warm.
- Too harsh on sensitive skin.
- It does not fully unclog your pores, you will still need to use a scrub, and this can not be used in place of a scrub.
- Not great for people with dry skin, it will make your skin even drier.
Will I Buy It Again?
Yes, I will buy the garnier pure active pore unclogging face wash again if my skin starts breaking out. Which it does when I start eating junk a lot. Which is seriously very easy to do. But for now, thank fully I’m not breaking out so I’m not using this face wash, but it still remains my go-to face wash whenever my skin starts acting up.
Do I Recommend It?
- Yes: To people who have acne/pimple problems because it is quite effective in that area as it has salicylic acid.
- No: To people with dry or sensitive skin, sorry it’s just not made for you if you are in the dry or sensitive skin category.
