Quick Review

Question: What is so good about the Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion?

  1. It is an effective product, you can see the difference on your skin from the third* use itself.
  2. The Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion instantly moisturizes, softens, and smoothens the skin.
  3. Refined Macademia Nut Oil is rich in anti-oxidants and is good for the skin.
  4. This is a light-weight, moisturizing lotion ideal for a quick apply when you’re short on time.
  5. It gets absorbed by the skin very easily.
  6. Ideal for dry, normal and itchy skin conditions.
  7. With regular use, your skin will feel nourished, and it will glow.
  8. Reasonably priced.
  9. Tocopheryl Acetate is a form of vitamin E. It is rich in oxidants and is good for your skin.

Question: What are things I should be aware of before I invest in this product?

  1. The product is not ideal for all skin types.
  2. Not at all suitable for oily or combination skin. It will make your skin greasy.
  3. Unlike natural products, made with only natural ingredients, that help your skin in the long run, the cetaphil moisturizing lotion does not really have any long-term benefits for your skin. If it suits you, you’re in luck and if it doesn’t – well we’re sorry for you.
  4. In hotter climates, it may even make those of you with dry skin, get greasy after application, so you have to limit the amount you use.

Result: Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is without a doubt a very good moisturizer. With the reliable name of the brand. It is great for people with sensitive, dry, or itchy skin. This lotion is light-weight and thus, ideal for application during the day, but even if it is applied during the night as a skin care routine it will not disappoint. The only point here is that it is, well, not made for everyone. The Ceptaphil Moisturizing lotion is truly moisturizing. Thus making it a bad choice for those with oily or combination skin. But it can still be used for those with oily or combination skin as part of their skin care routine at night, since it is a light-weight formula, you will have to apply only a pea sized amount. This is so it won’t make your skin greasy.

Detailed Review

To get a better idea, of how this product would fare in different conditions I tested it during both winters and summers.

The Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion fairs differently on different skin types as well as it works differently during different seasons, yes that’s true.

Summer Time

Dry Skin: During summers, this can be a life saver for those out there who have dry skin, it won’t log you up during the day as it’s a very light- weight formula and it will still moisturize your skin and keep it from feeling dry. I think this product best suits the needs of those that have dry to normal skin.

Normal Skin: You should be a little cautious when using this product during the day time, as it will not make your skin greasy but may make you sweat more when the sun shines on you. I would recommend not using more than a ‘pea-sized’ amount during the day. Other than that you should be rest assured, that this miracle lotion will keep your skin nourished, and conditioned throughout the day.

Oily/Combination Skin: I don’t recommend this moisturizing lotion during summers for this particular skin type. It will make your skin even more oily than it is, or ever should be.

Winter Time

Dry Skin: Winters are generally harsh on both your skin and your hair. So this may or may not do the trick for you even during the day, depending upon the severity of dryness you’re facing on your skin. You may need to frequently re-apply it if you want the moisture locked in on your skin. But if you don’t mind that, I would say, there is nothing that should stop yo from buying this one even in winters, for gentle day care.

Normal Skin: The Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion shall still work wonders for you even in winters. For normal skin type, this product is ideal for both in winters and summers.

Oily/Combination Skin: The Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion is ideal for us people with combination and oily skin. Because it wouldn’t make you and oily mess and still keep you moisturized in the right way. Be sure of the amount you’re using, for people with this type of skin, remember less quantity is better. So those of you who are wondering whether they should try this product out, winters will be the ideal time to test it out.

Question: How does the Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion help my skin?

Answer: Ingredients like, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Refined Macademia Nut Oil, Tocopherol Acetate, and Stearyl Trimethisilane make it a very moisturizing lotion, specially with the goodness of Macademia nut oil and Vitamin E (Tocopherol Acetate).

In the long run, with continued and regular use, it makes your skin glow and eliminates problems such as itchiness etc.

Question: Is the Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion effective?

Answer: Yes, it is one of the best out there.

Question: Do I recommend it?

Answer: Yes, I highly recommend it to people with dry, and normal skin types. However, if your skin type is anywhere from oily to combination then, this product may not be apt for you. If you must then, use it as a night cream in your skin care routine or give it a try in winters, as your skin is less likely to be too oily during winters.

Question: Will I buy it again?

Answer: Yes, but since my skin is a combination skin, I only use it as part of my skin care routine in winters. I do not use it during the summers.

P.S. – I hope this review was helpful to you and now you feel more clear on whether you want to try this product or not.
