DIY : Warm Herbal Oil Facial

Tailor made for Dry, Mature, Dehydrated Skin the warm herbal oil facial aims to make your skin supple and soft.

Material Required

  • Cleansing Milk/lotion
  • Face Scrub of your choice
  • Rose Water (It is a Natural Toner)
  • Carrier/ Base Oil – Almond Oil or Olive oil (20-30 ml)
  • Essential Oil – Sandalwood or any other of your choice (3 drops)
  • Cotton Pads
  • Facial Gauze

Procedure

Take a Makeup Cleansing Wipe and remove all your make-up.

Now spread the Cleansing Lotion/Cream all over your neck and your face using upward massage strokes. Repeat the massage stroke for 2 minutes.

Now take a damp cotton pad and removes the cleanser, remember do not stretch you facial muscles while removing cleanser, Use one hand to support while you clean from the other hand so as to not stretch your facial muscles.

Next step, Scrub away all the dead skin from your face.

Now take your Toner/ Rosewater and apply it with another fresh cotton pad.

Now take your choice of carrier/base oil and add your choice of essential oil, (we picked sandalwood for its anti-aging, moisturizing properties) and warm it up slightly.

Now immerse your facial gauze in it, let the oil saturate your gauze, squeeze out extra oil but make sure you do not over squeeze it, it should be saturated enough to easily stick to your skin.

Take hot water in a bowl, soak a small towel in it, and squeeze out the towel. The water should have made your towel hot. Next, Place your oil- saturated gauze on your face and put your hot towel on top. The heat from the towel opens up your skin pores and makes it easier for the skin to absorb the oil.

Keep it on for at least 15 minutes, you may want to re- soak the towel if it is no longer hot. Make sure it is no longer that 25 minutes though. You may also use a facial steamer if you have one at home instead of the hot towel method.

After your clock says 15 minutes, remove the oil- saturated facial gauze and massage any extra oil in your skin like you would any cream.

Next, wipe off the excess oil with a cotton pad soaked in room temperature water. Followed by slightly cold water to close any open skin pores.

There you go! You are done and I promise you your skin will feel super moisturized, soft and supple. If you want to know more about essential oils read Our Short Guide To Essential Oils
